There is one feature of GitUp camera that really rocks – the camera takes photos as you go while video recording. Yet, the quality of pictures can be enhanced by photo editing – it really makes a big difference! One of the biggest challenges while shooting was the fog that occurred due to humidity (which is quite high in SE Asia). The problems occurred particularly in broad daylight situations with lots of sunlight. Sometimes they came out great, other times it wasn’t as good as expected. Speaking about more general travel photographs (especially landscapes), the resulting pictures had mixed quality. It really allowed me to capture the photographs anywhere, anytime, even on a kayak or when swimming.
GitUp is a really cool selfie taking device – I just pointed the camera while it was attached to a selfie stick and then took pictures just by using the remote (it is in the shape of a watch, so it’s extremely handy!). What I really enjoyed was taking selfies. Yet, there are so many situations where it’s impossible to take along the DSLR, especially when travelling and participating at outdoor activities.ĭuring my trip to Langkawi (I was there with my friend Mathias), there were multiple trips that we attended, where we only got pictures thanks to GitUp: for example, jet ski trip, canoeing trip, and also when we went snorkeling. The buttons are quite stiff and hard to press – one needs to use a lot of power before the button reacts, so I actually find it much easier to operate the camera from the remote.įor the majority of my trips, I stick to using DSLR since it can provide me with the best quality of the images.

I got the Pro version, so the protective waterproof case was already included (by the way, the camera cango as deep at 30m!) The lock is quite sturdy, and it’s easy to open the box. While GitUp lets you switch between video- and photo-shooting mode, I am always confused when I am trying to play the recorded video. I am not really a technical person, so I have to make my mistakes first before learning from them:0 There are only three buttons to operate the camera, so it takes some getting used to operating it. I have spent some time playing around with the camera before really using it. It would have been extremely handy during the trip to Austria, when I did canyoning (and a couple of other outdoor adventures), where it was just not possible to bring along my other photography equipment.
